A few years ago, pilates in Kuta, Lombok meant a simple mat class in one of the gyms. Now there are several proper reformer studios to choose from, alongside mat classes and a growing recovery culture to go with them. Whether you're here for a week or staying for a few months, here's where to get your pilates fix.

Reformer Pilates Studios in Kuta, Lombok

Maru Pilates

Maru was the first dedicated pilates studio in Kuta and it remains one of the most beautiful places to work out in town. Located above Loka gym, the boutique reformer studio has a packed class schedule. Spots do fill up, so it's worth booking in advance.

What sets Maru apart from the newer studios is the depth of their programme. As their community has grown, so have the classes. Alongside accessible Level 1–2 options (Power, Core & Booty, Surf Fit, and a slower-paced Flow class with added stretching and mobility), they now offer a Level 2–3 Progressive class for experienced movers ready to push their practice further. These more advanced sessions tend to run in the mornings, so if that's what you're after, check the schedule and book early.

Private classes are also available for those who want personalised attention, whether you're completely new to reformer and want a proper introduction, or you're experienced and looking to progress with more focused support.

Beyond the regular timetable, Maru hosts retreats and pop-up Pilates events too. Keep an eye on their website and Instagram (@maru.lombok) for upcoming dates.

Pricing: Drop-in Class is 250k IDR. 10 Class Pack is 1.85mil IDR.

The Slow Studio

The Slow Studio is a reformer specialist through and through. There are no mat pilates classes here, just a thoughtfully curated programme of reformer sessions with different themes. Sculpt, Core, and Dynamic classes each offer a different focus, so you can mix and match depending on what your body needs that day.

The studio is super central, situated in front of El Tropico hotel on the main Kuta road, making it easy to slot into your day. The recovery offering is makes this more than just a Pilates studio. A magnesium pool, sauna, and ice bath are all available alongside your studio booking. Follow them on Instagram @theslowstudio__ for the latest schedule and pricing.

Pricing: Drop-in Class is 300k IDR. 10 Class Pack: 1.75mil IDR.

Panass Pilates Club

Panass brings a little more energy to the pilates scene. With the tagline "sweat with sass, move that Panass," this isn't your straight-laced studio. It's fun, community-oriented, and designed to keep you coming back. The studio has two rooms: a reformer room and a studio room that hosts mat pilates and dance classes, giving you more flexibility in what you try.

Beyond the reformer room, Panass has built something that feels more like a lifestyle destination than a straight-up studio. The on-site cafe is the kind of place you'll want to linger after class. I do love a good Instagrammable cafe. They also run dance classes for both adults and children, which makes it a genuinely fun option for families or anyone who wants a bit more variety in their movement week.

Pricing: Reformer Drop-in Class is 215k IDR; Studio Class is 130k IDR. 10 Class Pack is 1.7mil IDR/935k IDR.

Mat Pilates in Kuta, Lombok

Mana Lombok

If you're already spending time at Mana for yoga, it's worth knowing they run mat pilates classes across the week too. The setting is the same open-air shala — and honestly, doing pilates in a space like that, with a natural breeze and tropical gardens around you, is a fairly hard thing to beat. Check their current schedule on-site as class times rotate.

Pricing: Drop-in Class is 150k IDR. 10 Class Pack is 1.2mil IDR

Rascals Kuta Lombok

Rascals recently added pilates to their shala schedule, with classes running twice a week. The shala is fully equipped for mat-based work, and the shaded, garden setting makes it a particularly peaceful place to practise. Worth combining with a yoga class or a post-session recovery booking.

Pricing: Drop-in Class is 150k IDR. 10 Class Pack is 1mil IDR.

XenoFit

If you're already a member of XenoFit, the mat Pilates classes are included in your gym membership at no extra cost. Classes run on Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons. The setting is the open gym floor rather than a dedicated studio, but the instruction is solid, and it's a convenient add-on if you're already training there. Check the current schedule on their website.

Pricing: Day Pass is 225k IDR. 1 Week Pass is 950K IDR. Both prices allow you access to the whole gym and any classes.

FAQ: Pilates in Kuta, Lombok

Do I need experience to try reformer pilates in Kuta?

No, most studios welcome complete beginners. Most of the studios specify the levels of their classes, so just double-check when you’re making your booking. The instructors usually give you a quick run-down of the machines before class starts too.

What's the difference between reformer and mat pilates?

Reformer pilates uses a sliding carriage with springs and straps to add resistance and support to movements. Mat pilates uses just your bodyweight. Both build core strength and stability, but the reformer tends to feel more intense and varied. If you've never tried reformer before, Kuta is a great place to start. The studios here are welcoming and not intimidating at all.

Which pilates studio in Kuta, Lombok is best for beginners?

Maru and Panass are both beginner-friendly. I like Maru’s Flow classes for something a little less intense (although the instructors always give options to up the ante if you’d prefer). Panass also has a fun, low-pressure atmosphere that makes it easy to walk in without much prior experience.
