Why We Chose HOMA Phuket Town
We were looking for a long-stay base in Phuket that offered modern facilities, strong community vibes, and a comfortable space to work from each day. HOMA stood out because it blends hotel convenience with apartment-style living, offering the flexibility of a home with the amenities of a resort — something we’ve come to value over time. The focus on sustainability was another huge draw. From refillable glass bottles to separated waste, HOMA feels like a place that genuinely cares about its impact, which is essential to us. And finally, being close to Phuket Town meant we had great food, markets, cafés, and local life on our doorstep, even if it meant being a little further from the beaches.

HOMA feels like a breath of fresh air in Phuket Town. The building is large, well-designed, and brand new, with mature trees and a small garden that give it a sense of calm. When you step inside, there’s a noticeable separation between the peaceful courtyards and shared spaces within HOMA and the busy, chaotic streets outside. It feels like its own little world — a place you can retreat to at the end of the day.
We particularly loved the layout of the grounds. There’s a softness to the way the buildings are arranged around green spaces, and even though it’s a large development, it never feels overwhelming. It’s one of those places where you can exhale the moment you walk through the doors.
Rooftop Pool with City Views
One of the standout features at HOMA Phuket Town is the rooftop pool. It sits high above the surrounding streets, giving you views across Phuket Town and out towards the hills. The space feels serene, especially in the early morning or late afternoon when the light softens and the city below quiets down. There are loungers for relaxing, shaded spots for reading, and enough room to swim laps if you want to get a bit of movement in. Whether you’re taking a break from work or winding down at the end of the day, it’s a beautiful spot to escape to — and one of the amenities we used the most during our stay.
Sustainable Living
Sustainability isn’t something many properties in Southeast Asia do well, but HOMA makes an apparent effort. Each apartment comes with refillable glass bottles, and the property has on-site water filters. This alone makes such a difference. We never had to ration water or buy plastic bottles, and we never had the guilt of creating excessive waste.
The building also sorts rubbish into recycling, composting, and landfill. This might sound basic, but if you’ve spent any time travelling around Asia, you’ll know the infrastructure for waste management is still developing. Having a place that takes these steps seriously — and makes it easy for guests — really stood out. It felt good to live somewhere aligned with our values.
Gym and Yoga Facilities
The gym and yoga studio were among our favourite parts of living at HOMA. Everything is state-of-the-art, clean, and well-maintained. There’s a separate yoga room that’s perfect for stretching or doing a quiet solo session, and the gym itself is equipped with everything you need: treadmills, weights, machines, and open areas to move freely.
What makes HOMA different from other serviced apartments we’ve stayed in is the class schedule. They offer Muay Thai, circuit training, yoga, and more. It’s clear that the facilities weren’t an afterthought — they’re a core part of the HOMA experience. Whether you prefer a structured workout or something more low-key, you’ll have plenty of options here.
On-Site Restaurant
Yes, you can have almost anything delivered these days, but there’s something lovely about having a café and restaurant within your building. Sometimes you want to sit somewhere and order a proper coffee. Or enjoy a meal without opening your GrabFood app. Or bring a beer to the pool. The on-site restaurant adds an extra level of convenience that we really appreciated, especially on busy workdays.
The food was consistently good, and the staff always made us feel at home. There’s also something comforting about having a consistent place you can sit and work or relax without needing to go far.
Warm and Welcoming Staff
From the cleaners to the reception team to the owners, everyone we encountered at HOMA Phuket Town was friendly and welcoming. It feels like they genuinely care about the guests and their experience. That kind of hospitality isn’t something you can fake. It’s the little gestures that add up — a smile, remembering your name, checking in after a class or event.
Community Vibe
For digital nomads who crave community, HOMA is one of the most social long-stay options we’ve come across. They host networking events, movie nights, volunteering days, and even organise clubs for running, football, and chess. It’s a place where it’s easy to meet people if you want to, but you can also keep to yourself. The balance is just right.
We met people who had lived there for a month, and others who had stayed for more than six months. Some were digital nomads, some were remote-working couples, and others were long-term travellers. The shared spaces are designed to encourage natural interactions. It felt both friendly and relaxed — not forced or awkward.
What Could Be Better
Location
Being based in Phuket Town has many perks, but it also means being farther from the southern beaches. Without a motorbike, reaching the coast is a bit more challenging. If walking to the beach or having easy access to swimming spots is a priority, HOMA isn’t the best base. But if you’re more focused on culture, food, convenience, and city life, then it’s perfect.
Busy Coworking Space
The coworking space is popular — so popular that it was sometimes hard to get a desk if you arrived later in the morning. The phone booths could also fill up quickly. However, management was already addressing the issue when we left. They were in the process of rearranging the rooms to add more desks and upgrading the booking system. It’s a small frustration that seems to be improving over time.
Nearby Highlights
Chillva Market
One of the best local markets in Phuket Town, Chillva is vibrant, fun, and full of great food. It’s excellent for grabbing dinner, sampling local snacks, or browsing stalls for clothes and crafts. It’s close enough to walk or grab a short ride from HOMA.
Slow Thrive Coffee House
Just a short distance away, Slow Thrive is an absolute gem for coffee lovers. It’s a slow coffee bar with a relaxed, minimalist vibe and some of the best brews we found in Phuket. Their attention to detail is excellent, and it’s a great spot to work or unwind. It’s a short walk through some winding streets from HOMA, but worth it.
Phuket Town Sunday Night Market
Also known as Lard Yai Market, this weekly event turns the streets of Old Town into a colourful maze of food stalls, performances, and handmade goods. It’s one of the most iconic experiences in Phuket Town and is worth a visit at least once during your stay. It gets hot and crowded, so be prepared.
Elephant Sanctuary
If you’re looking for a place where you can interact with these gorgeous creatures ethically, you need to check out the Ethical Elephant Sanctuary. You can see these retired giants strolling the grounds, swimming and just generally living in quiet dignity. There is no riding or bathing here.

HOMA Phuket Town is one of the most thoughtful, community-focused long-stay options we’ve come across. If you value modern design, sustainability, excellent facilities, and the chance to meet other travellers and nomads, it’s a fantastic choice. Just be aware of the location trade-off—you’ll have all the comforts of Phuket Town, but not the easy beach access.
Would I stay again? Absolutely. Especially for anyone looking to spend a few weeks or months in Phuket while working remotely.
